Moving Sideways
General overview for July 2007.
This month of July is going to be reasonably helpful for most of us, as there are more positive alignments (4) compared to only (3) negative ones.
This month starts with five planets retrograde, namely, Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. On the positive side it can provide time to reflect, to mull over, re-consider and look deep within ourselves to hopefully discover what we really want to do in the future. On the down side, it may feel as though we are just trudging along and getting nowhere fast.
To add to this, the Sun and Mercury are in Cancer. This sign is associated with home, family and the past. Cancer is known for not directly approaching a problem. There is a tendency to move around it, or even go sideways. So that brings me to the reason for the title of this feature article, namely ‘Moving Sideways’. We can feel as though we are not getting where we want to with all this retrograde activity, enhanced by the Cancer influence and tendency to dwell on matters connected to our past, or heritage or family upbringing. However, moving sideways is better than stepping backwards. We need to give ourselves, and others room to breathe, room to move, room to mull over problems, situations and to realistically try to fathom what it is that we really need to do.
Later in the month, although Mercury will have turned direct, we are then challenged by the retrograde action of Venus for about 6 weeks. So the month starts with 5 planets retrograde, and ends with 5 planets retrograde. Mercury and Venus just changed lanes. One speeds up and the other slows down. As above, so below. So we may find ourselves still being challenged to understand, and perhaps show compassion and even love, for those who are lost and can’t find their way. (Gosh I know I’ve been lost for awhile, didn’t realise I was writing about me, but that happens now and then, sorry).
Back to the topic at hand. Fortunately we get some grounding with Mars in Taurus, which is an Earth sign and helps to keep us at least a bit more focussed, considering the planetary terrain.
Fortunately, the planet that I consider important, which is Jupiter, because it represents our ability to keep the faith, will only be retrograde for another 5 weeks. I look forward to this planet moving in direct motion, as I always feel it serves its purpose much easier then. Jupiter is one of my co-ruling planets (Pisces) and I need its energies to sustain my faith and keep me heading in the right direction, which I am not so sure about at the moment. This newsletter has become very personal to me this month, and I am only just managing to keep typing as my heart is still breaking over the loss of my husband. My goal is to get this newsletter sent out today, 1st July.
Moving right along……………………….
In chronological order there are various changes in the heavens this month and they are: Mercury will turn direct on Tuesday 10 July at 2 degrees of Cancer; there will be a New Moon on Saturday 14 July; Venus will enter Virgo on Sunday 15 July; the life-giving Sun will enter Leo on Monday 23 July; Venus turns retrograde on Saturday 28 July at 2 degrees Virgo; and lastly there will be a Full Moon on Monday 30 July, with the Sun at 6 degrees Leo and the Moon at 6 degrees Aquarius.
Mercury will turn direct on Tuesday 10 July at 2 degrees of Cancer so if you have any personal points at that degree, some information may come to light regarding the area of life that Mercury rules in your own personal chart. Generally speaking, when Mercury moves back into direct motion things start to pick up speed, especially if they have recently undergone alterations or delays of any kind. Communications get back to normal, people will finally return your phone calls and the fax machine decides to work yet again, finally! Plans that had been put on hold, or holiday arrangements may now seem to flow a little smoother. You can safely trust that your thought processes are once again back on track and not as changeable as they have been recently.
There will be a New Moon on Saturday 14 July at 21 degrees of Cancer. For those who have personal planets at this degree, you may come to understand a new perspective on a current situation and be able to reach into the future with confidence. For some it can spell a turning point in life.
Venus will enter Virgo on Sunday 15 July and remains in this sign up until 10 August before backtracking into Leo. During this time, we may notice that health issues are of more importance to some, especially matters involving hygiene and cleanliness. This would be a good time to start a cookery course, especially one that may lead to an income as a chef or restaurant owner. Some people can become quite materialist during this time and put this ahead of their love lives. It is likely to be a slump period for weddings, as we become fussier about what we want, or don’t want, in relationships.
The life-giving Sun will enter Leo on Monday 23 July. This can put the spotlight on gold shares, entertainment, parties and big celebratory events involving showbiz and lots of glamorously dressed people out strutting their stuff. Not the time to hide your light under a bushel, but rather put your best threads on and show the world your real talents. Someone in power may become hugely popular during this month long phase and there may also be some spotlight shining more brightly on one of the Royal family. Having fun and enjoying oneself may be the tune during this time.
Venus turns retrograde on Saturday 28 July at 2 degrees Virgo and remains in this phase up until 8 September. This is a long period, of six weeks, where the harmony in the world may be unsettled or we are not seeing the love and harmony that is already there. Some may only notice the bad things going on in the world and close their eyes to all the caring that goes on every single day.
There will be a Full Moon on Monday 30 July, with the Sun at 6 degrees Leo and the Moon at 6 degrees Aquarius. Those who display themselves as glamorous and regal may be at odds with those who prefer to go against the status quo. For some the ego may get in the way of the collective vision of mankind. Try to be more open-minded and offer a helping hand to those in need.
Jupiter is still retrograde and remains in this phase up until 6 August. This I feel will reflect in many and varied ways according to your own unique position and beliefs about life, as Jupiter has rulership over faith. This could prove to be a time when some of us will question our faith and whether it is strong enough to sustain us in trying times. The earthquake in Bam in Iran would have to be one of those disasters, where those who are affected would question why this has happened to them. Their beliefs may undergo scrutiny and re-assessment. Some may feel they can no longer believe what they have always believed and may have a change of heart about how they will now view their lives. Jupiter also has to do with the courts and the justice system, so here again there may be some long drawn out situations, or perhaps a decision is made that is challenged by many who disagree with the initial outcome. Some people may want the justice system changed to incorporate capital punishment, and whether this is a wise choice or not, is not for me to decide. We could also see further incidents to do with issues surrounding the travel and sporting industries, especially those related to horses, and associated events which may come under scrutiny due to the influence of Jupiter in Sagittarius.
Uranus is still retrograde and remains in this phase up until 24 November. Uranus is the inventor and the discoverer of places beyond our imagination. We may try to re-discover how we can tap into our own unique imagination and realise our true potential and capabilities. We may have denied some of the things that could be and now we may investigate and discover what really is possible.
Neptune is still retrograde and remains in this phase up until 31 October this year. Neptune is the planet of high ideals and elusion. It is also the planet that dissolves situations including ice, icebergs, snow and hail. It can also produce mud slides. This planet was the pivotal planet in the event chart of the landslide in Thredbo. Whilst Jupiter retrograde may have seen many of us go through of period of questioning whether we have enough faith to sustain us, Neptune retrograde may lead some of us to question our ideals and our views on reality. This is also the planet related to drugs and alcohol. There may be far more people finding secret places to hide their trade, and this will make it harder to track those bringing illegal substances in and out of the various countries.
Pluto is still retrograde and will remain in this phase up until 6 September. Pluto is the transformer of the zodiac, and will literally turn your life around when making alignments to your own personal planets. However, when in retrograde phase it allows you the opportunity, once again to re-assess your current motives, your passions, your intimate relationships and your attitude towards life, death, and even sex, to decide if what you have chosen in recent times is for your overall good and development. Personally I prefer it when Pluto is in direct motion, but as I have said before, we can’t always have the planets where we want them or going in the direction we may prefer. Utilise this time to delve into your subconscious, explore your deepest psyche and uncover elements that you thought were hidden, even from yourself, and analyse them as if your life depended on it. The revelations you may experience may literally wipe your current slate clean and allow you to pursue your goals with absolute freedom when Pluto resumes direct motion in September 2007. Pluto will remain in Sagittarius until 27 November 2008. Pluto will retrograde back into Sagittarius for five months starting in June 2008 and then re-enter Capricorn in late November 2008.
For horary enthusiasts, the Sun and Moon will be in each others signs on 15, 16 and 17 July, which means they will be in mutual reception. Mercury and the Moon will be in each others sign on 11 and 12 July, so they too will be in mutual reception. This occurs again on 18, 19 and 20 July. Continuing all month we still observe Neptune in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces indicating that they are still in mutual reception.
Now down to the specifics of daily planetary activity.
The favourable days in July 2007 are:
Monday 2 July: Mercury sextile Mars. This is a high energy day on a mental level so people will want to voice their opinions or be vocal about what they consider important. A good day to start a new business that requires huge doses of both intellect and muscle. Also a good time to take a hike, enter a marathon run, or join up with a group of young people to swap ideas on how to get fit and stay healthy. This is also a time to become organised with your filing system, conquer the mountain of paperwork and then let off steam later in the gym for some muscle flexing.
Monday 9 July: Venus trine Pluto. This is a magnificent combination and can produce a great day for those seeking true love. I adore this kind of planetary formation. If you should happen to meet a new lover under this influence you will be radically changed overnight. This new person will seem magnetic and passionate. You may feel you have been put under a spell, and in a way you are right. This influence is deep, hypnotic and highly sexual, so expect to go into a relationship and become totally and intimately involved, and very quickly too. Also a good day to get married, start a new business enterprise especially if it involves regeneration themes, getting fit or to do with women’s products and services.
Friday 20 July: Mars sextile Uranus. This is a combination that is electrifying and exciting. There will be some amazing stories in the news and those who seek to surprise and shock will capture the most attention. A great day to buy a new car, an aeroplane if you can afford one, or start an automotive business or even an electronics store. Inventive and original ideas, as well as using your initiative will be pay dividends, especially if you put some extra energy into your endeavors.
Sunday 29 July: Mercury trine Uranus. The grey matter can be stimulated and some will have flashes of insight into previously tricky problems. A great day to try to solve a puzzle or attempt some brainstorming. New ideas could revolutionise existing thoughts and make headway for some exciting new ones. There could be some new discoveries or inventions arise in the course of the day and those who are the geniuses on the planet will also be inspired more than usual. A good day to open a communications or other business involved in the transference of information or ideas. Starting to write, or even launching a new book could also prove highly successful and grab the attention of those seeking something new and different. This alignment holds the promise of surprise and excitement. If you wish to start a unique advertising campaign or launch your ideas out into the big wide world, choose this day to do it. Many communications will contain startling information or news that will surprise people. New websites or other communications businesses, such as magazines or newspapers, that are launched today will fare well but will need to be constantly coming up with new concepts and stimulating ideas to keep us entertained and enlightened.
The not so favourable days in July 2007 are:
Sunday 1 July: Venus conjunct Saturn. Not a good day to get married, start a new relationship or go on a first date. Any one of these will be productive of delays, limitations or burdens and other difficulties that will be hard to overcome. People will tend to be hard to reach or fathom or understand. Barriers that tend to divide will be more noticeable than usual. Do not start a new business today, especially if it involves women’s products, beauty, music or the arts. Not a good day to try to reach amicable agreements, especially with those near and dear to you. Some will tend to become disappointed in a big way. The air is filled with distance and coldness so don’t attempt to make up with your lover if you have had a fight, as they will not want to hear your plight and may just turn their back and walk the other way. Friendships and new romances will not get off to a good start and may involve heavy responsibilities later on or you find out you have to look after them more than is healthy. Not a good day to start a new business as the setbacks and delays may curtail your freedom and not be worth the effort applied.
Also today Venus opposition Neptune. This unhelpful alignment may lure some people who are planning to mix business with pleasure and this brings about disappointment, loss or other confusion due to outright deception or serious camouflage. It is not the time to commit to a relationship or even a friendship, for there is likely to be something glossed over that hides the real truth or some elementary ugliness. An apparent secure relationship may come unstuck and reveal a trail of dishonesty, treachery and lies. Those who live life on the surface and pretend to be happy will be faced with having to show their dirty washing and there may still be something lurking in their pockets. Check all facts and any new faces you meet today.
Wednesday 25 July: Mars square Neptune. This is one of those potentially deceitful days when people can easily colour over their mistakes and present a picture that is marred inside and out, if you would only lift the veil of elusion to view the ugly and distorted truth. It is wise not to sign any important documents on a day like this as there will be more loopholes than found in a fish-net. Those who generally tend to give people the benefit of the doubt will prove to be the most vulnerable. Do not believe all you read or hear today as there will be lies and deception running rampant. This alignment may cloud our vision or create errors of judgement. It can potentially be a deceptive day and should be treated with care. There is great potential for people masquerading as someone else so check all those beards and wigs, just in case. Those who seek to disguise themselves will do very well and walk off with the loot before anyone even suspected that they could possibly be the culprits. It will be somewhat like the lady with the baby in the pram who is camouflaging her real intent of treachery and deceit, in a very big way. Do not start a new business today or attempt some impossible feat, for it will have holes in it that are hard to see or instructions difficult to decipher.
