Steer Your Own Ship
This month the heavens bring us eleven favourable alignments, nine potentially troublesome ones and then there is the Jupiter opposition Neptune aspect which I have chosen to put into the positive category because I believe that this can be a highly constructive pattern if used wisely. However please be aware that the negative inclinations involved with this aspect can bring chaos and confusion as mentioned in that segment.
Several planets are on the move, namely: Saturn to Cancer on 4 June; Uranus turns retrograde on 7 June; Venus moves into Gemini on 10 June; Mercury to Gemini on 13 June; Mars to Pisces on 17 June; Sun to Cancer on 22 June and finally before the month is out, Mercury once again changes signs for the second time this month by moving into Cancer on 29 June.
On Wednesday 4 June we note that Saturn moves into the homely sign of Cancer, where it is in detriment, which basically means Saturn is not at home or happy here. This transit will last approximately two and a half years. Family obligations may be felt more deeply and these issues will be taken far more seriously. The real estate industry may go through a sluggish period during the next two and a half years, or at least stabilise. There will be a general trend towards the media and governing bodies focussing on the family unit and all its inherent conservative responsibilities and structures.
Saturday 7 June 2003, shows the unpredictable planet Uranus go into retrograde motion in the mystical sign of Pisces, and touching on the last one and a half degrees of Aquarius before resuming direct motion in early November 2003. This retrograde motion will last for a period of about five months. During this time we are given an opportunity to re-consider our humanitarian aspirations and see what the underlying message is from the Universe to the delicate human species. Whether we get the real message or some delusional ideas is a personal one. We each must cut beneath the exterior and see what lies under the veils of appearance, clothing and position in life. Some will discover what their real mission or calling in life is supposed to be and this will guarantee those lucky ones the ultimate satisfaction of just 'knowing' they are on the path they are supposed to be on. We have the opportunity to discover our own unique destiny and follow that course and learn the lessons this entails in our lifetime.
All of this, naturally, is a matter of personal perspective. Those who rightly or wrongly presume they know what is right for the good of all had better be right, for if they are not, then mankind will not progress spiritually as was designed by the Creator. The rebellious ones, stuck in their warped and rigid thinking, unfortunately may continue in their wayward patterns and are then unable to see past the end of their nose. Narrow mindedness is close to the surface and if this attitude prevails, we will be taking two steps forward and a thousand steps back. Those who are able to remove the blinkers and see the true meaning of the potential for the human race will be the pioneers of a new understanding that encompasses no bias or prejudice.
On Tuesday 10 June Venus moves into the intellectual sign of Gemini. Thoughts can turn to matters of peace and harmony and some negotiations are likely to be reached by those who try hard enough to achieve an amicable agreement. If people have the purest possible intentions, then this can be a time of gaining some universal solutions to difficult problems. Artists, writers, musicians and poets may produce some wonderful works and can sell these ideas to the public with relative ease. However Gemini is a changeable sign, so don't count on stability or people sticking to their decisions. They could be in love with one person one day, and off looking at someone else the next.
Mercury, the nimble planet ruling Gemini also moves into its own sign around 13 June and is very happy being in this sign. Communications and the Internet will thrive and everyone wants to have a say about something, even if it is just meaningless chatter. The flexibility however associated with this combination can mean the decisions and actions change with the wind flow. Time can be wasted going over needless details more than once. Paperwork will seem to pile into mountains and people get RSI signing their name.
Mars moves into Pisces on 17 June and this has various connotations to consider. Pisces is a sensitive and humanitarian sign, and Mars can be brash and overly eager to get things moving. Some people may misdirect their energies during this time and their actions may contradict their intentions. Heated emotions are likely to result in unconscious actions which don't know how to express themselves. Stay away from brooding types and those who are somewhat shady, to say the least. There could be some fires, accidents or explosions connected to oil wells, petrol stations and angst connected to any of these or the shipping industry.
The Sun moves into sensitive Cancer on 22 June and this will tend to put an emphasis on matters connected to the home, family, one's own country and strong, yet highly sensitive emotions connected to these matters. People are more inclined to set boundaries and walls that divide rather than the elements that unify one another. Some may be over protective of what they believe is their birthright, or their inherited values and traditions.
Lastly in the month we see Mercury move yet again, and this time into the sign of Cancer. This will continue the theme of the Sun in that sign, though with Mercury's emphasis there will be more talk connected to those issues and news reports focussing more than usual on these everyday concerns. Those who are sensitive to criticism will need to strengthen their backbone somewhat less hurt feelings are flying all over the place.
To top this off there is a Full Moon in Cancer on Monday 30 June 2003 and this can result in people wanting to be on their own turf, in their own country with their family and close friends nearby. The sense of belonging to a country or family will be of paramount importance. There may also be a major development within the British Royal family. Traditional, conservative or sensitive issues will be more important than usual. The family unit will be considered a priority. Family gatherings around this time will become particularly memorable further down the track, and unify those who may have become estranged from one another in recent times.

The favourable days in June 2003 are:
Tuesday 3 June 2003: This brings the mighty Jupiter opposition Neptune alignment. We had this aspect back around mid February this year and I am repeating this here again. This influence has been brewing for a week or so and will continue for another week or two as well. Despite the negative connotation of this opposition aspect, this could in fact turn out to be a positive alignment if those amongst us are able to rise above the mundane and see the higher octave of the true meaning of life and our purpose in it. However, we are not all so highly or finely tuned and therefore it can be a time of trials and tribulations productive of errors, or expectations magnified out of all proportion and leading us to misjudgments and flawed reasoning. There will be a feeling of having our faith tested, yet again, and those who are not strong in mind, will start to wilt and crack under the pressure. What appears to be a heroic or wise deed, may turn out to be a totally fraudulent and/or wasteful exercise. Liars, cheats and con men will be out in full force so tread warily and trust no-one at face value and even question those you do know well, just in case there was an oversight or there is some misunderstanding that can produce problems later on. Fuel prices may go through the roof or there are problems connected with these or with the shipping and travel industries.
Wednesday 4 June 2003: Today there is also the beautiful alignment of a sextile from Sun to expansive Jupiter. This will provide us with the inspiration and faith to get any new endeavour under way with enthusiasm and sincerity of purpose. Open an entertainment centre or have a huge banquet or festival then and it will go off like fire crackers on New Years Eve. This is also a good day to get married, start new friendships and any project involved with gold, glamour or places of amusement or the publishing industry. It is also one of the better kind of planetary times to commence just about anything that is important to you. A new store or business opening today would do well if focussed on books, publishing, the travel industry or to do with the law. If you strive for success on a day like this you are likely to achieve your goal. This is also a good time to start an overseas holiday.
Also today is the favourable Sun trine Neptune angle. This is one of those days that will seem magical to those who are open and attuned to the cosmic vibrations around them. A positively inspiring day and one that will be long remembered as a day that brings the beautiful side of nature and life to our attention and the recognition that there are great wonders all around us, each and every day, if we just open our eyes and senses. Spend some time relaxing near the ocean and it will soothe your tired or restless soul. Music will be inspirational and those who are gifted in this area may create some magical lyrics or tunes. Opening a store selling musical or artistic products should fare well.
Saturday 21 June 2003: There is the Venus trine Neptune alignment today and this is just wonderful for a first date, getting engaged or married or throwing a huge party or other social gathering. If you utilise the themes of the ocean, romantic or magical effects the outcome will be truly fascinating for all those who participate. Musicians, artists and poets will be in their element and thoughts and the imagination flowing freely and inspired by the mystical aspects of the Universe. A good day to open a business focussing on the elements of beauty, flowers, crystals, perfumes and women's products.
Also today we have the lovely Mercury trine Neptune aspect which is just wonderful to recite poetry, start a novel which is highly imaginative, write a play about the mysteries of life, or spend the day looking at the waves rolling in from the ocean. It is purely an inspiring time and those who wish to look through the cosmic doorway into the future may find it wide open today for those who wish to take a peek.
As if that weren't enough of the enchanting and spiritual elements operating today, as we also have the blessing of Mercury conjunct Venus. This tends to incline people towards thoughts of love, harmony and peace. Some will write lengthy declarations of their feelings for the one they adore. Peaceful negotiations are highly likely for those who have the best interests of everyone at heart. A good day to have a celebration, throw a party, go on a special date, get engaged or married. Business focussing on communications and the elements of romance will fare well, such as greeting cards offering words of love and friendship.
Monday 23 June 2003: Mercury sextile Jupiter. Another great day in more ways than one. This would be a good time to write a book, open a publishing business or book store or travel agency. Optimism will be the order of the day and people making big plans for their future. Travel commenced today will broaden one's horizons to a huge degree and possibly result in a change in philosophies. The legal industry will have a busy day and the courts will be overflowing with business and many comings and goings. A good day for starting a new job or making new friends. A large advertising campaign started now will prove highly successful. People will be inclined to want to discuss issues and voice their opinions on all manner of topics, especially those involving other countries, beliefs and religious views.
Again today is blessed with a powerful alignment of Mars trine to Pluto. This combination is a high energy one so if you have planned to start some new project today that requires physical stamina or a lot of energy, then this is the time to do it with relative ease and the promise of an easy flow in getting this off the ground. Starting Any new enterprise involving mechanics, the automotive industry and anything connected to exercising the muscles, such as a new gym, would be in tune with the Cosmos and be productive of eventual success.
Tuesday 24 June 2003: Venus sextile Jupiter. This is a lovely day for a wedding, a huge banquet or other gigantic social occasion or a charitable event to raise funds. People will be inclined to be both generous and extravagant. Getting the good intention behind any supportive action, as mentioned, raising funds for a charity, would be well received and prove to be successful. The cosmetic industry will be busy and profitable and any business connected to flowers, perfumes and items of beauty and adornment. A new clothing store focussing on the most refined and fabulous looking women's clothing would be very in tune with this planetary combination. (Please also take into account the Mercury/Pluto and the Mars/Uranus aspects mentioned in the not so favourable section before making any important decision that can affect you long after today).
Wednesday 25 June 2003: Sun trine Uranus. This is a very electrical kind of day and one that can bring enormous excitement into people's lives. Be prepared for the unexpected and the unusual and you will not be disappointed. A great day to go exploring, visit a place you have never been to before, start a new and exciting job or business, especially if it connected to electronics, the Internet or aviation. Some people will come up with some potentially revolutionary ideas today and inventors will be inspired to bring something new and dazzling to the rest of us. New friendships started today will be very different to what you are used to and could literally turn your life around.
Also today is the big Saturn trine Uranus aspect. This is one of those times when we can blend the conservative with the new and original and satisfy the needs of both sides of the fence. This alignment has been effective for a few weeks prior to the actual date and will continue for several weeks afterwards as well. This would be a good time to open a store that sells antiques and also incorporates some modern ideas on ways to sell these products. The electronic side of businesses should fare well and if this is tempered with the plan to make this a long range project, then the rewards will naturally follow. A good time to buy a new computer or some electronic gadgets for the home. This would also be favourable for starting up some new enterprise that involves the Internet. Slow and steady will win the race if enough hard work and perseverance is applied. Barriers can also be removed between differing cultures and nations if they have the maturity to see past the colour of one's skin or the country of origin. Diplomatic relations can be improved upon, provided both sides are open to suggestion and not rigid in their beliefs. An open mind, with the view towards constructive change will win the day.
This day also bring the Sun trine Mars aspect. This is fortunate for those wishing to push their own barrows and get out there to achieve some recognition or fame for their talents. Also a good day to buy a car or other electrical or electronic gadgets or machinery. Also any business started that incorporates any of these items would be started under promising star patterns today. A gym opened today will attract a large following as would an automotive repair shop or other mechanical enterprise. Someone in the sporting or athletic industry may be seen to achieve a new record or be in the news celebrating their victory. (Please keep in mind the other two negative planetary patterns of Sun/Saturn and Venus/Pluto on this same day before making serious decisions that will affect your personal life).
The not so favourable days in June 2003 are:
Friday 6 June 2003, we have the contentious aspect between Venus, the planet of love and harmony, and Mars, the God of War. This can be highly problematic when it comes to relationships. Men and women will generally speaking not see eye to eye, or they both have a totally different agenda. This is not a good day to have a first date, get engaged or married. There is too much potential discord and people only seeing the physical or exterior of each other rather than the true personality. Physical attraction will be the name of the game so if you are the sensitive, emotional and romantic kind, do not get involved with a new partner around this time as this is definitely not the roses and candlelight aspect. This is more than likely going to bring about hot and steamy encounters that often are not long lasting, though they can be if each person is highly evolved and mature. Advertising aimed at seductive techniques though could be highly rewarding and capture the necessary sexual fantasies of those who are vulnerable to such luring promises.
Tuesday 10 June 2003: Sun opposition Pluto. This is a highly volatile and explosive angle that can erupt from out of nowhere and create chaos and ruin for those who take chances with their lives and their safety. A VIP or other person of high standing may take a fall or be held accountable for some misdeed from their past. Any secrets that are buried may be re-surfaced and exposed for all to see. This will be an ugly time for some as the underworld elements of this can be exposed and create unpleasant situations for people to try to extract themselves from. Not a good day to buy a car, go into business, get married, engaged or start a new job, friendship or other personal decisions that can reflect on oneself at a later time. Be careful who you associate with and do not trust strangers. Alleyways and dark places should be avoided like the plaque.
Wednesday 11 June 2003. Mercury square Mars. Today brings an argumentative influence. People will open their mouths before putting the brain into gear. Some will go off half-cocked, speak rashly or incite argument and conflict. Not the day to start a fight with any close friendships or relationships as heated words can be felt for a long time after this and lead to resentment and loathing. Hurt feelings will go deep and be remembered. Be wise and stick to routine and don't travel unless you absolutely have to. Do not buy a car or speed if driving. Accidents can happen at the most inconvenient time and if you are in a hurry, slow down, despite how late you will be. You will eventually get there if you can just focus on being the tortoise rather than the hare.
Thursday 12 June 2003. Venus square Uranus. Definitely do not start a new romance, friendship, get engaged or married today as it will more than likely lead to separation or divorce. That is the hard facts of this planetary alignment. A party may be exciting but productive of some upsets or a coupe fighting and making unpleasant waves for others to cope with. However, despite this, there will be some unlikely match-making going on and people being drawn towards those who are different to what they are used to and this will be the bait to lure them into inappropriate or brief liaisons.
Sunday 15 June 2003: Mercury square Uranus. This can be an erratic and mind disturbing day for those who are easily rattled or fazed by unpredictable upsets and developments around them. This is not the time to travel, drive, or start a new business. You may even have to take care in forming new relationships. There could be some startling news delivered today and messages of all kinds will take on an erratic tone and some will make quick decisions that are not in their own best interests. Young people may find themselves caught up in protests or riots that get a little out of hand, to say the least. Avoid people who incite rebelliousness and stay out of the line of fire.
Tuesday 24 June 2003: Mercury opposition Pluto. Some people will tend to become fanatical or obsessed with finding what they are looking for and will go to extremes in thought and action to reach this end. This will especially apply to people who suddenly realise they have lost or misplaced something of importance and set about trying to re-locate it. No stone will be left unturned in the process. News reports though may tend to focus on the underworld and the seedier side of life. The drug and criminal elements of society will be uncovered and there could be claims of bribery or extortion to a huge degree. Children in particular should avoid strangers and walking in the dark alone.
Also today is the Mars conjunct Uranus aspect. This is highly explosive and accident prone so do not start out on any new journey or buy a car today. Try to avoid working with heavy machinery or electrical items as there is likely to be something go horribly wrong. Plans will be unsettled and errors likely to arise quite unexpectedly. Take your time if people start to get pushy or forceful. Riots can develop easily so avoid large gatherings or people who are out to start a fight. Do not make any particularly personal decisions today as this could be fraught with problems and dangerous conditions. (Please note there is a favourable Venus/Jupiter angle on the same day and make your plans accordingly).
Wednesday 25 June 2003: Sun conjunct Saturn. This can be a disappointing day if you plan to make any significant personal decision that affects your well being and your future plans. T his can have long-term ramifications so choose wisely. Not he day to approach the boss for a raise, nor start a new job, career, business, friendship, nor get engaged or married. There can be barriers or walls to challenge those who try to make peaceful negotiations, so refrain from these today where possible. An elderly person or a VIP may be in the news and showing concern for their safety or position. Someone in power or politics or royalty may lose their status or standing in the community.
Also today is the Venus opposition Pluto alignment. This does not bode well for all new relationships, friendships and is not the day to propose, get engaged or married. People can become obsessive about one another and later found to be prying into their private affairs. This is the sinister and subversive side of this aspect and can be productive of jealousy to an insane degree. Those who do choose to unite today will probably live to regret it. There will be undercurrents of resentment and hidden motives to the relationship. One may manipulate the other and this will have sinister overtones and result in pain and suffering to the victim. Also do not start any new enterprise today, especially one that involves your hard earned savings. (Please note that there is the favourable Saturn/Neptune and Sun/Mars alignments today to take into consideration before making your final decisions).
