A Time to Live, A Time to Die
This month of October presents far more positive vibrations in the heavens than potentially difficult planetary star patterns.
Being specific, there are 12 positive alignments and only 4 that may present some challenges to us to overcome.
During the month, there are some other changes to be noted. Mercury enters Libra on Tuesday 7; there is a Full Moon on Friday 10; Neptune goes direct on Thursday 23; the Sun moves into Scorpio on Friday 24, and Mercury does likewise on the same day; there is a New Moon in Libra on Saturday 25; and Saturn goes into retrograde phase on Sunday 26 October.
Firstly let's talk about Mercury's entry into Libra, the sign of balance, justice, unity, partnerships, and putting things in order. This 18 day duration can bring about major discussions concerning any of these matters. The newspapers will literally be eating up any juicy items connected to those who step out of the boundaries of the law. Young people may also head for the alter and declare their feelings of love, more so than usual. It is a time to see the other's point of view and try to reach amicable agreements.
The Full Moon on Friday 10 October could signal a day when some are emotionally volatile especially against those who are trying to negotiate a peace agreement. If tempers can be kept under control, there may be reason to celebrate at the end of the day. Do not be hasty in judging other people's opinions. Yours may be just as valid as theirs.
Neptune goes direct on October 23, and this is just wonderful for artists, musicians, writers and poets. Those who may feel as though they had lost sight of the dreams in recent times, may now feel that the Universe is once again open for their perusal and investigation. Psychics will become more in tune and will pick up subtle signals around them to aid their choosing of the right time to do things. The ocean will seem like the most tranquil place to be and those who live near the water, such as myself, will be in their element and soaking up the vibrations of peace and tranquillity from witnessing a beautiful sunrise over the magnificent ocean waves. (I just can't help myself can I?).
Both the Sun and Mercury will move into the deep and intense sign of Scorpio on October 24, and this will herald a time when we annually question our mortality and reasons for being here. Mercury will only stay in this sign for about three weeks, whereas the Sun lasts a whole calendar month. We can anticipate that matters associated with life and death situations will occupy the thoughts of those in the fields of medicine and the police, and the news will most certainly focus on these areas as well. Often a body that has been hidden for many years can surface during this time frame. Secrets are often let out of the bag, or skeletons found in the closet, literally. It is a time to be introspective, questioning and probing the mysteries of life. There may be more than the usual amount of news related to death, dying and all matters associated with the goods of the dead and their estates. Egypt may also be a topic of news or conversation or to do with items such as a sarcophagus or the Phoenix or other items related to Ancient Egypt. The medical profession my come under scrutiny. This can be a good time to do some re-evaluating of your life, getting rid of past connections that may be hindering your progress and start a clean, new page of life.
The New Moon on October 25 in the balancing and fair sign of Libra, may coincide with a renewed effort at peace-making by some people or countries. This day could also significantly coincide with a union, partnership, merger, engagement, marriage or declaration of love or peace between two nations, or a couple in high circles or involving a royal family.
Lastly, Saturn the ruler of time and lessons learned, moves backward (retrograde phase) yet again in the heavens on October 26. Where there had been can be order, regulations and a stronger hand forcing those to follow the rules, now some people will start running amok, possibly with no sense of where there are going or how to get there.. We may not have much stability in the housing market and/or land prices, or it goes through a very sluggish time. Those ambitious ones amongst us, may feel they are getting nowhere or going backwards from their aims. They may have hoped in vain that their plans would take them in leaps and bounds up the corporate ladder. Alas a more propitious time will come for that.

Saturday 4 October: Sun trine Neptune. This is one of those days that will seem magical to those who are open and attuned to the cosmic vibrations around them. A positively inspiring day and one that will be long remembered as a day that brings the beautiful side of nature and life to our attention and the recognition that there are great wonders all around us, each and every day, if we just open our eyes and senses. Spend some time relaxing near the ocean and it will soothe your tired or restless soul. Music will be inspirational and those who are gifted in this area may create some magical lyrics or tunes. Opening a store selling musical or artistic products should fare well.
Thursday 9 October: Venus trine Uranus. This can be fantastic if you meet someone for the first time as you will find the encounter exciting, stimulating and so much fun. Relationships formed now will be commenced under unusual or out-of-the-ordinary circumstances. Also possible is that one or both of the people involved will have an unconventional way about them or their job is not the usual run of the mill or 9 to 5 variety. Today can be delightful for entertaining, especially if you are prepared to try something new and innovative. The more out-of-the ordinary, the more fun it will be. However if you plan to have day of unusual entertainment and go a bit over the top in some way it may work out OK. This can give some a fresh new perspective for viewing love and romance. Whoever you encounter today will be different to what you have been used to. So get ready for a walk on the wild side if the opportunity arises and don't stop to think about it or you will miss out on a brand new experience. Those who dare to be innovative will capture the attention of their audience in a startling and exciting way during this time. Love relationships started today will be different in as many ways as there are stars in the sky. People involved in the arts, musical, beauty or related fields will be very productive and become more creative and inventive than usual. Those who wish to shock the conservative ones will be pleasantly surprised at how well they are actually accepted. The more unique your product or talent that you wish to show or sell will prove highly prosperous. A good day to get married, go on a first date, buy new clothes or throw a party or become involved in any form of entertainment.
Saturday 11 October: Venus trine Mars and Sun sextile Pluto. Firstly the Venus/Mars alignment. Those in the business of selling will have a field day if they use the methods of 'sex sells' at this time. The seductive elements between these planets can be wielded on an innocent public who will actually lap it up like a pussycat with a bowl of milk. A good day to get married, engaged, go on a first date or start a business involved in capturing the imagination of those who are interested in what attracts one to another. Items such as perfumes and aftershaves will sell well today, or any other item that lures people to one another.
Then the Sun sextile Pluto angle on the same day can prove to be a great time to try to remake yourself or change your spots, if you need to. A day to spring clean, get rid of the old and outworn and be refreshed by the newness of starting out on a new path. Someone in power may take a gigantic leap forward or be presented with an offer that almost seems too good to be true, but it will ultimately change the course of their destiny. A wonderful day to get married or start some new enterprise that involves reform or renovation in any way. If you wish to pull down the walls and rebuild them, this is the best time to do it. New relationships formed today, whether friendship or intimate, will literally put your life into a different perspective and possibly change your life forever.
Monday 13 October: Mercury trine Neptune. This aspect is just wonderful to recite poetry, start a novel which is highly imaginative, write a play about the mysteries of life, or spend the day looking at the waves rolling in from the ocean. It is purely an inspiring time and those who wish to look through the cosmic doorway into the future may find it wide open today for those who wish to take a peek.
Friday 17 October: Mercury sextile Pluto. This is the day that detectives and the police can uncover hidden motives, dead bodies, or anything else that has been covered over. Also a good time to start writing a mystery novel, solving a crossword puzzle, or doing that jigsaw. The mind will be penetrating and clear. Those who seek to discover what lies beneath the surface of things will be pleasantly surprised with what they find. Starting a new study course too will keep those in attendance in awe of what they learn.
Saturday 18 October: Venus sextile Jupiter. This is a lovely day for a wedding, a huge banquet or other gigantic social occasion or a charitable event to raise funds. People will be inclined to be both generous and extravagant. Getting the good intention behind any supportive action, as mentioned, raising funds for a charity, would be well received and prove to be successful. The cosmetic industry will be busy and profitable and any business connected to flowers, perfumes and items of beauty and adornment. A new clothing store focussing on the most refined and fabulous looking women's clothing would be very in tune with this planetary combination. Any new relationship, friendship or new romance started today will be just wonderful and bring out the best in both people. A blind date will more than likely turn out very positive and happy. (Also note the adverse Venus square Neptune aspect on the same day, and as negativity can override the positive, please consider all important decisions on this day. So please read the Venus/Neptune as this influence can mar the more favourable Venus/Jupiter angle).
Monday 20 October: Venus trine Saturn. Not a good day to get married, start a new relationship or go on a first date. Any one of these will be productive of delays, limitations or productive of burdens and other difficulties that will be hard to overcome. People will tend to be hard to reach or fathom or understand. Barriers that tend to divide will be more noticeable than usual. Do not start a new business today, especially if it involves women's products, beauty, music or the arts. Not a good day to try to reach amicable agreements, especially with those near and dear to you.
Friday 24 October: Mercury trine Uranus. The grey matter can be stimulated and some will have flashes of insight into previously tricky problems. A good day to try to solve a puzzle or attempt some brainstorming. New ideas could revolutionise existing thoughts and make headway for some exciting news. There could be some new discoveries or inventions arise in the course of the day, and those who are the geniuses on the planet will also be inspired more than usual. A good day to open a communications or other business involved in the transference of information or ideas. Starting or even launching a new book could also prove highly successful and grab the attention of those seeking something new and different.
Saturday 25 October: Sun conjunct Mercury. This is called a combust situation, where a planet is so close to the Sun and the Sun can literally burn up the other planet. This can cause a congestion of information on telephone lines, faxes, e-mails and even face to face communications, where one person is just not hearing the other or cannot seem to reach an agreement or get their heads together on the same issue. Postpone any really important negotiations until a better day. Those who are fast paced mentally will enjoy a day like this and they will not be agitated by the influx of interruptions or extra communications because they will literally thrive on it. At least they will not have a boring day. The rest of us will be somewhat frazzled by the end of the day and be seeking some quiet time away from the demands of this modern world. As this conjunction occurs in the sign of Scorpio, there may be a death reported in the news that shocks us all. (Please note the New Moon also today).
Tuesday 28 October: Mercury tine Mars. This is a high energy day on a mental level so people will want to voice their opinions or be vocal about what they consider important. A good day to start a new business that requires huge doses of both intellect and muscle. Also a good time to take a hike, enter a marathon run, or join up with a group of young people to swap ideas on how to get and stay fit and healthy. This is also a time to become organised with your filing system, conquer the mountain of paperwork and then let off steam later in the gym for some muscle flexing.
Friday 31 October: Sun trine Mars. This is fortunate for those wishing to push their own barrows and get out there to achieve some recognition or fame for their talents. Also a good day to buy a car or other electrical or electronic gadgets or machinery. Also any business started that incorporates any of these items would be started under promising star patterns today. A gym opened today will attract a large following as would an automotive repair shop or other mechanical enterprise. Someone in the sporting or athletic industry may be seen to achieve a new record or be in the news celebrating their victory. (Please take into consideration the adverse Mercury square Neptune on the same day).
The not so favourable days in October 2003 are:
Tuesday 7 October: Sun square Saturn. This can be a disappointing day if you plan to make any significant personal decision that affects your well being and your future plans. This can have long-term ramifications so choose wisely. Not the day to approach the boss for a raise, nor start a new job, career, business, friendship, nor get engaged or married. There can be barriers or walls to challenge those who try to make peaceful negotiations, so refrain from these today where possible. An elderly person or a VIP may be in the news and showing concern for their safety or position. Someone in power or politics or royalty may lose their status or standing in the community.
Wednesday 15 October: Mercury square Saturn. This is not the day to make agreements as they may involve regulations and obligations that tie you up in knots. There could be some serious decisions made that affect people long after the present. The Mercurial influence could be darkened by sombre Saturn's habit of making it difficult to see eye to eye and reach amicable agreements about any of these matters. However, those who are wise can instruct those who are not. Those who refuse to take a wider view will only alienate themselves from a comfortable position and find themselves on the other side of the wall. This though can be a good day for serious study. It is not good for purchasing land or other real estate. If you do, then make sure there are no potential problems to do with dampness or rising water levels in the area.
Saturday 18 October: Venus square Neptune. This unhelpful alignment may lure some people who are planning to mix business with pleasure and this brings about disappointment, loss or other confusion due to outright deception or serious camouflage. It is not the time to commit to a relationship or even a friendship, for there is likely to be something glossed over that hides the real truth or some elementary ugliness. An apparent secure relationship may come unstuck and reveal a trail of dishonesty, treachery and lies. Those who live life on the surface and pretend to be happy will be faced with having to show their dirty washing and even then, there may still be something lurking in their pockets. Check all your facts and any new faces you meet today. (Please also note the favourable Venus sextile Jupiter on the same day).
Friday 31 October: Mercury square Neptune. This is one of those potentially deceitful days when people can easily colour over their mistakes and present a picture that is marred inside and out, if you would only lift the veil of elusion to view the ugly and distorted truth. It is wise not to sign any important documents on a day like this as there will be more loopholes than found in a fish-net. Those who generally tend to give people the benefit of the doubt will prove to be the most vulnerable. Do not believe all you read or hear today as there will be lies and deception running rampant.
