When You Wish Upon A Star

General overview for January 2007.

This month of January is going to be relatively moderate for most of us, as there are more positive alignments (9) compared to only 4 negative ones.

This month starts with the beautiful Mars/Neptune alignment which can help us transcend the earthly limitations and take us to a place in our imaginations that is mystical and magical, if we want it to be. It is a perfect way to start the New Year, so make your wishes today.

We have the opportunity this month to make the most out of our lives by making our decisions when the planets are aligned favourably, and avoiding those dates where there are clashes between the heavenly bodies.

With the lovely opening of the New Year with the helpful alignment of Mars and Neptune (as mentioned above) we can make our wishes and dreams come true. So when you wish upon a star, today or tonight, remember to do it with the most altruistic ideals in mind. Be a little creative too in your wishing, and it may very well be granted within just a few days time.

The beginning of a new year gives us the chance to wipe the slate clean and start over. Give yourself a new notebook to write in. Be imaginative with your ideas and make resolutions that will challenge you on every level that is possible to attain. I like the idea of new things at the beginning of the year. Sometimes its just little things, like going and having a haircut, buying a new outfit, or taking a walk to somewhere I have never been to before. However, if I don’t hurry up and finish this newsletter I will still be sitting here at my computer and not enjoying the outdoors, sun, sand and surf that I love.

Tuesday brings in the innovative alignment between the Sun, which is our very life force, and unpredictable Uranus (this aspect is mentioned further under the heading of favourable days). However I want to mention that this alignment can inspire us to do something different, maybe even take a risk or two, as this will add excitement to our lives if we let it in.

In chronological order there are various changes in the heavens this month and they are: there will be a Full Moon on 4 January; Venus will enter Aquarius on Thursday 4 January and remain in this sign up until 28 January 2007; Mercury is on the move again by entering Aquarius on Monday 15 January and remaining in this sign up until 2 February; Mars will enter Capricorn on Wednesday 17 January and remain in this sign up until 26 February 2007; there will be a New Moon on Friday 19 January; the life-giving Sun will enter Aquarius on Saturday 20 January for a stay of one month; and lastly Venus will move into the mystical sign of Pisces on Sunday 28 January and remain in this sign up until 21 February 2007.

There will be a Full Moon on Thursday 4 January with the Sun in Capricorn and the Moon in Cancer, at 12 degrees of these signs. There may be a clash between what some people consider important in terms of home and family matters, and what is important in terms of status and position in life. There may be differences of opinion between differing generations and age groups. Some people will make decisions that will prove to be major turning points in their lives.

Venus will enter Aquarius on Thursday 4 January and remain in this sign up until 28 January 2007. This could bring an attempt at peaceful negotiations if those ‘powers that be’ can lift themselves high enough to visualise the greater good for the world and those who live here. There may also be some sensational news regarding love affairs, romance and marriages that seem to arise out of unusual situations, or between people of very different backgrounds, cultures or age groups. Alliances and romances will be formed that seem to have something different or unique about them and they will prove to be the talk of the town. Some people will take the huge step from long term friendship to romance, taking themselves and each other by surprise. This is also a good time to start a new fashion house focussing on the out of the ordinary and the use of original ideas.

Mercury is on the move again by entering Aquarius on Monday 15 January and remaining in this sign up until 2 February 2007. This sign is associated with astrology, astrologers and things associated with modern technology such as computers and the aviation industry. Astrologers will be busy and sought after more so than usual. Thoughts can now hold more focus, for some, but not all, on how we can become more altruistic and show concern for our brothers and our sisters on this planet, despite what country they, or we, were born in.

Mars will enters the hard working, business oriented and industrious sign of Capricorn on Wednesday 17 January and remain in this sign up until 26 February 2007. This will enable those seeking to rise to the top of the ladder may be confident of starting their ascension during this seven week period. All conservative industries and government business will be seen as where all the activity is going on. Those who plan long term strategies will reach their goals if they persevere and do not give in during the long haul. Someone in a high profile job may seem irate and difficult to negotiate with. There may be some accidents, fires, aggravation or heated situations connected with the mining or building industries or to do with railways and trains.

There will be a New Moon at 28 degrees of Capricorn on Friday 19 January 2007. What a lovely time to gather in a traditionally orientated, family way in the first month of the new year.

The life-giving Sun will enter Aquarius on Saturday 20 January for a stay of one month, and this brings in an emphasis on the brotherhood of man being of importance and if we can show our altruistic side we may move forward freely and with a sense of true sharing. We can still maintain our independence and yet be part of large groups of kindred spirits and the bigger picture. We can stand out, be unique and original, yet stay in touch with the overall world collective and unify our aims and interests so that all is equal and at one with the Universe.

Venus will move into the mystical sign of Pisces on Sunday 28 January and remain in this sign up until 21 February 2007. This is where Venus is in her exaltation, in other words, at her best and most compassionate. We may witness some very romantic alliances in the world or people throwing parties by the sea or reveling in mystery and magical themes. Romanticism will be very evident all around and the florist industry may thrive as may the perfumery’s or other businesses associated with beauty and the lifting of the senses. Venus will stay in this sign until 21 February, so you have plenty of time to get out there and play in the romantic stakes if your are single and fancy free. This will make the ideas of love and romance occupy many peoples minds. There could be some fairytale weddings or new relationships started under this magical and mystical sign. Some though may find the fog a bit too dense to see through and could fall prey to deception and intrigue. There will be some perfect matches and probably a fair amount of perfect mismatches too.

For horary enthusiasts, continuing all month we still observe Neptune in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces indicating that they are still in mutual reception.

Now down to the specifics of daily planetary activity.

The favourable days in January 2007 are:

Monday 1 January: Mars sextile Neptune. This one is brilliant for putting your head together with another for inspiration. As Mars rules the head and Neptune rules the imagination, much can be gained by taking some time out to receive some insight into a situation you had been trying to fathom. Energy directed positively and with great clarity will bring many rewards. This would be a favourable time to put your idealistic intentions into action. This alignment can be used positively by those who are wise, and on a personal level, if we wish to tune into the Cosmos today, some of us may be witness to some amazing revelations on how we can all live in unity and where our future is heading on a spiritual level. Some will be given the gift of great clarity of vision and be able to tap into the avenues for success, or their definition of it.

Tuesday 2 January: Sun sextile Uranus. This is a very electrical kind of day and one that can bring enormous excitement into people’s lives. Be prepared for the unexpected and the unusual and you will not be disappointed. A great day to go exploring, visit a place you have never been to before, start a new and exciting job or business, especially if it is connected to electronics, the Internet or aviation. Some people will come up with some potentially revolutionary ideas today and inventors will be inspired to bring something new and dazzling to the rest of us. New friendships started today will be very different to what you are used to and could literally turn your life around.

Thursday 4 January: Mercury sextile Uranus. This is the kind of day for all those scientists, astrologers, inventors, and pilots out there, or matters involving the aviation industry to be highly productive. Flashes of insight are possible for those who are open minded. A great day to launch a product that is original and designed to have shock appeal. Some people will get the best ideas they have ever had today, so start a brainstorming session this morning and it will continue well into the evening due to the high mental energy.

Sunday 7 January: Sun conjunct Mercury: This is called a combust situation, where a planet is so close to the Sun that the Sun can literally burn up the other planet. This can cause a congestion of information on telephone lines, faxes, e-mails and even face to face communications, where one person is just not hearing the other or cannot seem to reach an agreement or get their heads together on the same issue. Postpone any really important negotiations until a better day. Those who are fast paced mentally will enjoy a day like this and they will not be agitated by the influx of interruptions or extra communications because they will literally thrive on it. At least they will not have a boring day. The rest of us will be somewhat frazzled by the end of the day and be seeking some quiet time away from the demands of this modern world. As this conjunction occurs in the sign of Capricorn, matters associated with the aged, elderly or long held traditions and maintaining the status quo will be of most importance.

Tuesday 9 January: Mars trine Saturn. This can be productive for the automotive industry or any other industry involved with machinery of all types. Those who make long term investments, especially those involving the real estate business will profit from this further down the track. If you can keep your nose to the grindstone, your abilities and efforts will be recognised by those in authority over you. Perseverance, dedication and endurance are the qualities that can be drawn from this alignment so put them to good use while you can. Your energies will be backed up by your determination to plod on until you reach success.

Friday 12 January: Venus sextile Jupiter. This is a brilliant day for getting engaged, married or starting a new romance or friendship. Also good for opening a new business, especially if it is connected to women’s products, entertainment, the travel industry or foreign relations. Throwing a lavish party will also meet with success, though could be very costly. Starting a long distance journey, voyage or holiday could put you on a new learning curve and would be highly enjoyable and may result in a new love interest in your life, if you are single and fancy free.

Friday 19 January: Venus conjunct Neptune. This is just wonderful for a first date, getting engaged or married or throwing a huge party or other social gathering. If you utilise the themes of the ocean, romantic or magical effects, the outcome will be truly fascinating for all those who participate. Musicians, artists and poets will be in their element with their thoughts and imagination flowing freely and inspired by the mystical aspects of the Universe. A good day to open a business focussing on the elements of beauty, flowers, crystals, perfumes and women’s products. This could be a heavenly day. Some people may be lucky enough to find their soul-mate. This is a magical time and will colour over all misgivings and produce a haze of wonder and delight that will leave you gasping. New friendships or romances commenced today seem idyllic and will restore your faith in humanity. People generally will appear to be more caring and compassionate. A day when everything looks beautiful and inspirational. An ocean journey would be quite pleasurable to the senses or any other similar beautiful scenic location. A wisp of magical stardust will drift down from the heavens and gloss over today, inclining some romantic types to fall in love. The Sun will rise before you even had the chance to put out the candle lights.

Tuesday 23 January: Mercury sextile Jupiter. This angle promises those who strive to see the bigger picture will do so and teach those who listen how to find it themselves. A great day to start a holiday or travel to places previously unseen. This could prove to be a great day to start writing a new book, open a book store or one associated with the travel industry. People will generally tend to be liberal and broad-minded in their thinking and approach to life. Also a favourable day to start teaching, lecturing or writing a lengthy project. The area of communications and information will be busy and any business started today that connects with these will fare well. This is a good time for negotiations and for getting your message across. The advertising and news media areas will be highly productive. There could be a merger between two large organisations, companies or countries, that can benefit everyone involved. Expansion is the key-word for the day, so plan to make this as positive a time as possible. A busy day for the travel industry and the Internet. (please also note the difficult Venus/Saturn alignment as well as the difficult Jupiter/Uranus alignment also active today).

Friday 26 January: Venus sextile Pluto. This is a magnificent combination and can produce a great day for those seeking true love. I adore this kind of planetary formation. If you should happen to meet a new lover under this influence you will be radically changed overnight. This new person will seem magnetic and passionate. You may feel you have been put under a spell, and in a way you are right. This influence is deep, hypnotic and highly sexual, so expect to go into a relationship and become totally and intimately involved, and very quickly too. Also a good day to get married, start a new business enterprise especially if it involves regeneration themes, getting fit or to do with women’s products and services.

Saturday 27 January: Mercury conjunct Neptune. This potentially could create confusing conditions or outright deception. Read the fine print, if it is not too fine to read, and do not sign contracts or give confidential information to those who may use it against you. For those who are finely tuned or psychic they will have various inspirations or hunches that could be useful in some way, but be wise and double check your information, regardless of where it comes from. Musicians and artists could have a productive day if they allow themselves the luxury of letting their imagination flow without obstruction.

The not so favourable days in January 2007 are:

Saturday 13 January: Mars conjunct Pluto. There is the very close alignment between energetic Mars the God of War, and transformative Pluto, the God of the Underworld. This is the most volatile aspect we have this month and I feel can be connected with potential war threats in the world. As Mars and Pluto both have rulership over death and violence, this is not the time to walk alone in a dark alley or take any chances with your life, or risks to your safety or to meet with strangers. The air can be explosive and deep resentments can build from encounters made today that have sinister intentions. Don’t start any new business or friendships today and make every attempt to avoid people and places of a shady character, or large groups of angry people.

Tuesday 23 January: Venus opposition Saturn. Not a good day to get married, start a new relationship or go on a first date. Any one of these will be productive of delays, limitations or burdens and other difficulties that will be hard to overcome. People will tend to be hard to reach or fathom or understand. Barriers that tend to divide will be more noticeable than usual. Do not start a new business today, especially if it involves women’s products, beauty, music or the arts. Not a good day to try to reach amicable agreements, especially with those near and dear to you. Some will tend to become disappointed in a big way. The air is filled with distance and coldness so don’t attempt to make up with your lover if you have had a fight, as they will not want to hear your plight and may just turn their back and walk the other way. Friendships and new romances will not get off to a good start and may involve heavy responsibilities later on or you find out you have to look after them more than is healthy. Not a good day to start a new business as the setbacks and delays may curtail your freedom and not be worth the effort applied.

Also today Jupiter square Uranus. This is not the time to take risks with your savings, income or investments. Especially avoid major changes to your financial security that links up with your friends, as this can produce fallouts later down the track. Unexpected developments are likely to arise for those who take a gamble and then re-assess in the light of day, and realise they have made a huge mistake. Nothing small will be the result of any damage done today. Some gatherings or groups or committees may have some members departing from their posts. Sometimes it is over moral issues and the clashes will be productive of further chaos if you try to pull the reins in on those who have erratic views and opinions. It may be best to play it safe in all ways. Travel may be disruptive or produce sudden changes of schedule or timetables.

Monday 29 January: Mercury opposition Saturn. This is not the day to make agreements as they may involve regulations and obligations that tie you up in knots. There could be some serious decisions made that affect people long after the present. The Mercurial influence could be darkened by sombre Saturn’s habit of making it difficult to see eye to eye and reach amicable agreements about any of these matters. However, those who are wise can instruct those who are not. Those who refuse to take a wider view will only alienate themselves from a comfortable position and find themselves on the other side of the wall. This though can be a good day for serious study. It is not good for purchasing land or other real estate. If you do, then make sure there are no potential problems to do with dampness or rising water levels in the area.
